What Is NEXA? The Private Journal for Your Stack

NEXA is a private iPhone journal for the medications, peptides and supplements you take: plans, logs, supplies, check-ins and doctor reports.

7 min read

NEXA is a private journal for iPhone that keeps an accurate record of your stack — the medications, peptides and supplements you take on a schedule. You add each item exactly as it appears on your label, enter the plan you were given, and log what you actually took. NEXA keeps the plan, the record, your supplies and how you feel side by side, with discreet reminders, progress charts, a reference library, an opt-in AI assistant for your own records, and doctor reports you create on your phone. It never tells you what or how much to take.

Why we built NEXA

People who take a stack seriously were tracking it in notes apps, spreadsheets and their memory. Plans changed and the old version disappeared. A dose got logged twice, or not at all. And by the time of an appointment, nobody could say what had actually happened over the last three months.

Our team looked at what was out there and found two kinds of app: generic habit trackers that don't understand plans, supplies or units, and pill reminders that only know "taken" or "missed". Neither keeps an honest record. NEXA is the app we wanted instead — a journal that keeps what you meant to do and what you actually did apart, and never fills in the gaps for you.

What NEXA does, in one minute

  • Your stack: every item with the details from its label — form, strength, brand, source.
  • Plans: the schedule you were given, with every past version kept.
  • Logging: one tap for a planned time, with an edit trail on every record.
  • Check-ins: weight, waist, sleep and 1–5 ratings for how you feel, plus symptoms, notes and private photos.
  • Progress: every check-in on one chart, over a week, 30 days, 90 days or a year.
  • Supplies: each package, what's left, lot and expiry, with a ledger of every change.
  • Reports: a summary or full PDF, or CSV tables, made on your iPhone for your doctor.
  • Ask NEXA: an opt-in assistant that answers questions about your own records.
  • Reminders: discreet notifications that never name what you take.

Your stack, exactly as on the label

Search the catalog by ingredient or brand, or add anything manually — an item that isn't in the catalog stays private to you and is clearly marked "Not verified in catalog". Each item records its form, strength, brand, source and route as you entered them, and has one page that links its label details, supplies, plans and full history.

Change an item's name or strength and past records keep what they were saved with. Take an item off your active stack and its history stays; bring it back whenever you want.

Plans that keep their history

Enter the schedule you were given: every day, chosen weekdays, every few hours or days, or once — with several times a day, a start date and an optional end. When a plan changes, the change applies from now on and the earlier version stays in its history, so old records always keep the plan they belonged to.

Pause, resume or end a plan with one switch. Home shows today's next planned time and how much of today is logged; a week strip and month calendar show each day's progress as text — "1/3" — and any day opens to what was planned and what was logged. Plans keep the time zone they were made in, and daylight-saving gaps are flagged for you to check.

An honest record

NEXA is built around one rule: it never guesses.

  • A passed time with no record shows "Not logged yet" — never counted as taken, never counted as missed.
  • An amount you leave blank is recorded as "Dose not entered", never as zero.
  • Every log can say how sure you are of the time: exact, within the hour, only the day, or not sure.
  • Edits keep a revision history with a reason; a removed log stays as removed and drops out of totals and reports.
  • A save that's retried after a dropped connection is never recorded twice, and duplicates for one time are flagged, not merged.

How you feel, next to what you took

Check-ins cover weight, waist and sleep hours, plus 1–5 ratings for sleep quality, energy, appetite, recovery and skin dryness or irritation. Describe symptoms in your own words with how much they affect you and when they started, keep short private notes, and add progress photos that live in private storage only your account can reach.

The Progress tab puts every check-in on one chart — a week, 30 days, 90 days or a year — with each metric showing its change over the period, and lets you compare any two photos side by side. Body measurements work in kg/cm or lb/in; amounts always keep the unit on your label.

Supplies, tracked

Add each pen, vial or pack with its strength, quantity, lot, printed expiry and the day you opened it. Logs linked to a supply update an estimate of what's left, shown on My Plan. Correct a count or record waste with a reason — every change goes into the supply's ledger — and packages past their printed expiry are labelled for review.

Reports for your doctor

Choose a period (30, 90 or 180 days, or everything), the items and the sections — plans, logs, unrecorded times and skips, supplies, measurements, symptoms — then create a summary (one to two pages) or a full PDF, or a zip of CSV tables with a manifest. Reports are made on your iPhone and previewed before you share them. Notes, photos and your name are left out unless you switch them on.

Ask NEXA

Ask NEXA answers questions about your own records — "What did I record this week?", "Summarise my last 30 days", "Prepare for my appointment" — and library answers link the articles and entries they used. It can draft a journal note that you edit and save yourself, labelled as drafted with the assistant. It's off until you allow it: a screen shows exactly what is sent, to whom and why, and you can turn it off in Settings at any time. It never gives medical advice.

A library to look things up

Search ingredients and products, or browse by category. Ingredient pages explain what something is and what it does, list studies in people with participant counts, show also-known-as and look-alike names, regulator decisions by market, and their sources. Articles show their author, reviewer and review dates. Save and follow entries, and the Updates tab collects official notices for what you follow.

Private by design

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone and never name what you take, a dose or a symptom — each one has a "Mark as taken" button that logs that exact planned time. Your journal is tied to your account and nothing in it is used for advertising or sold. Export your data or delete your account and everything in it from Settings. NEXA is for adults (18+).

Frequently asked questions

What is NEXA?

NEXA is a private iPhone journal for the medications, peptides and supplements you take on a schedule. It keeps your plans, what you actually logged, your supplies and how you feel in one place, and creates doctor reports on your phone.

Does NEXA tell me what or how much to take?

No. NEXA records the plan you enter and what you log. It doesn't prescribe, recommend doses or suggest products, and it isn't medical advice.

What happens if I don't log a planned time?

It shows as "Not logged yet". NEXA never counts it as taken or missed; you can log it later with the real time, or mark it as skipped.

Do reminders show what I take?

No. Reminder text never names the item, a dose or a symptom, so a notification on your lock screen says nothing it shouldn't.

Can I share my records with my doctor?

Yes. Create a summary or full PDF, or CSV tables, for the period, items and sections you choose. Reports are made on your iPhone, and notes, photos and your name are left out unless you add them.

Is NEXA free?

NEXA is a subscription with monthly and yearly plans and a free trial for eligible new subscribers; the App Store shows the price before you confirm.
